Hunter Island

Woke to some swell this morning, so said farewell to Marble Island and motored round to the south-western side of Hunter Island. There is a passage between these islands where the current rips through it, so when our log showed us doing about four knots, the current shoved us along at ten! Definitely need to get the tidal flow right or you end up going backwards. So, in a very short time, we were nicely anchored and ready to explore Hunter Island.

Sadly, there was a sign saying the island is now leased by the Dukes Pastoral Co and is privately used for cattle and deer farming – so no trespassing. Such a shame, as we had explored here extensively in the past.

Opted to walk the beach, search for shells and have a swim in the lovely clear blue water.
