Haulout
After a few days anchored around King Island and North Stradbroke Island, we headed down to the Gold Coast. Sadly this was all under motor as, apart from our screecher, we currently only have an empty furler and no mainsail (while we wait for our shiny new ones). After passing all the amazing mansions at Sovereign Islands, we traveled about 5 miles up the Coomera River to Gold Coast City Marina. The guys there were terrific, allowing us to spend the rest of the day alongside at no cost, before hauling out in the morning. As always, it is a nerve wracking process, but all went smoothly. We spent a pleasant hour at the Quarterdeck restaurant enjoying breakfast while the boat yard set Windana up on the hardstand.
After a few days, with a clean bum, new antifoul and some shiny paintwork, Windana was relaunched.
Off we headed to Tipplers to anchor for the night - at a very speedy 8-10 knots! The joys of a clean bottom.
