Jumpinpin
Yesterday afternoon, the wind settled down so we moved back over to South Stradbroke Island and anchored at the northern end towards Jumpinpin Bar. We went for a walk across a boggy yabbie bank to explore a sand hill that we could see nearby.
We climbed the hill, expecting to see the ocean, but the scene was more like an amazingly beautiful lunar landscape. It was a lovely walk through to the ocean beach, but all the time, I was conscious of my footprints leaving a scar on the landscape. Thankfully only temporarily, as by the next day when we explored the area again, the wind had erased all trace of us.
The next morning, we couldn't resist another trek across the dunes. Spent a bit more time at the beach and having some fun with the soldier crabs on the way home.
